Grupo Felipe J. Alvarado

History

On 1863, a Company was founded under the name of “Compañia de Agencias de Costa Rica”, by a great number of local personalities, Involved mainly in the import/export business, but also in the banking and political affairs of Costa Rica. The main object of this company was manage shipping and customs brokerage activity.

On 1895, the name of the company was changed to “Felipe J. Alvarado y Compañia Sucesores de Agencias y Comisiones, Sociedad Anonima” later shorten to its current name.

Today, Felipe J. Alvarado Group is a port agency in Costa Rica, that offers several services, some of them are P&I club correspondent, ship brokerage, survey inspection, and legal maritime consulting.

PANDI CR

Pandi CR S.A. subsidiary of the Group is involved on the investigation of marine casualties, ship and cargo damage incidents, legal maritime practice and the analysis and handling of claims and their resolutions, within Central America, Panama, Mexico & the Caribbean.

The company has a number of staff surveyors based in the capital city as well as in the main ports of Caldera & Puntarenas (Pacific Side) and Moin & Limon (Caribbean Side).

We also have a group of professionals who integrate a specialized team, who are called-in to perform specialized technical jobs as per costumer’s need.

FJA Logistics S.A. was established in 2017 with the main purpose of segregate services between sister companies of Grupo Felipe J. Alvarado (Est. 1895) and re-enforce our brand.

Our vision is to provide the best service to our clients maintaining the best communication between all parties involved in the service and logistics process.

We have been port & protective agents through our main company Felipe J. Alvarado & Cía, Sucs., S.A., since 1895 on all Costa Rican ports. 

We provide the management for logistics and operations for special cargoes and projects, export and import cargo documentation.
